I didn't see Lord Zarquon this week, he was due to come over to see me on Monday but I wasn't feeling very well so we cancelled meeting up. A few years ago I recorded Camilla Joyce singing on my song about the Richard III Society. I thought I had lost that recording but found it last month and I gave it to Lord Zarquon earlier this month. He tells me he has mixed and mastered this recording and I will be interested to hear how it sounds. Because I didn't see him on Monday he wasn't able to bring over the new master of the recording.
I have recently written two new songs and one of the them is about the Stover canal between Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot. Here are some of the lyrics
TRANSPORTING GRANITE AND BALL CLAY
TO HACKNEY MARSH OVER MANY A DAY
A ONCE THRIVING INDUSTRY
THE OLD REMAINS FOR US TO SEE
ALONG THE PATH THE WILD FLOWERS
I COULD WALK FOR HOURS AND HOURS
AND DREAM OF DAYS OF A DISTANT PAST
OF SO MANY THINGS THAT DO NOT LAST
BEYOND TEIGNGRACE TO VENTIFORD
THE CANAL MAY BE RESTORED
THE SAD REMAINS OF INDUSTRY
JAMES TEMPLER'S LEGACY
